The Author:

Travis Nichols is a writer, illustrator, and cartoonist in Brooklyn. He is the author and illustrator of a tidy heap of books including The Terribles (series), Maze Quest, Betty's Burgled Bakery, Fowl Play, Monstrous Fun, Matthew Meets the Man, The Monster Doodle Book, and Punk Rock Etiquette: The Ultimate How-To Guide for DIY, Punk, Indie, and Underground Bands, which was awarded a Blue Ribbon by the Bulletin for the Center for Children's Books and was nominated by YALSA as one of the 2009 Popular Paperbacks for Young Adults.

His comics have appeared in the late, great Nickelodeon Magazine (RIP), the SpongeBob SquarePants comic book series, the Hello Kitty, Hello 40 anthology, and the Uglydoll graphic novels. He has played in more than a dozen bands you've probably never heard of (how's THAT for indie cred?!), and he enjoys meteorites and eating watermelon over the sink.
