This beautifully designed, witty Philadelphia-themed Tarot card deck features 78 illustrations featuring beloved Philly icons. Local artist James Boyle was originally commissioned to illustrate a story about tarot cards for a magazine and the 3 Philly themed cards he created were such a huge hit he turned them into a full tarot deck! The deck comes complete with an accompanying guidebook by Gina Tomaine - the author of the article about tarot decks that James create the original images for! Beautifully packaged and printed with shining gold edges and a matte UV finish, these cards make a wonderful gift or keepsake and also look stunning when framed all together or in sets.

The Maker(s):

James Boyle is a professional illustrator that resides just outside the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with his wife, two cats, and daughter. He spends most of his time in the studio, striving to create unique and powerful images.  His art has been featured in magazines and comic books, on posters and album covers. And now - a tarot deck!

Gina Tomaine is a Philadelphia-based writer and editor. She is the Health and Wellness Editor of Philadelphia magazine and the author of The Philly Tarot Deck Guide Book. Her features, essays, and commentary have appeared in New York magazine’s The Cut, VICE, Cosmopolitan, Women’s Health, The Boston Globe, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Yoga Journal, Good Housekeeping, and Longreads. In 2020, she was a finalist for an American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) National Magazine Award for her work covering rising prescription drug costs. She has held previous roles as Deputy Lifestyle Editor of Philadelphia Magazine and Associate Deputy Editor of Rodale’s Organic Life. She's also written for NPR’s From the Top, where she interviewed classical musicians.
