The Maker:

Silk Road Bazaar represents marginalized artist groups located in Kyrgyzstan & Central Asia where they make an effort to connect with artists who are far from capitals, who have limited market access, who have carried on traditional craft culture they wish to share. These artisans work with natural fibers and eco-friendly resources to produce handcrafted products. The Silk Roas Bazaar team lives among artist groups for an extended period of time as they start working with each group so they can learn the unique skills and challenges of their workers and learn how to support them. During that time they also help artists become self-sustainable by developing their designs, management techniques, quality control and computer skills. All designs and collaborations are original works of Central Asian artists and Silk Road Bazaar.
