Please tell us if you do not see a drop-in session that would be valuable and meaningful to you. Because we are just two new parents staffing this whole venture we will start with a small offering but over time we hope to add many groups, such as same sex parent support groups, adoption support groups, multiples support groups and parents over 40 groups, just to name a few. At Ali's Wagon there will be comfy couches and a bottomless pot of coffee and snacks waiting for new parents who want to get out of the house but are challenged to do so as they learn how to schedule errands around their sleeping child/ren, and just how to handle the plentiful and bulky gear that little people seem to require. Our space is cozy and intimate, your living room away from home. All you have to is navigate that big new stroller off of your stoop and we'll be waiting to settle you in on the other end. Come mingle with people like yourself who, in their lives before babies, took the simple things for granted -- like getting a second to run off to the bathroom by themselves!
New Mom's Drop-in Group
This drop-in group meets every Friday to provide moms of children under one year a venue to socialize with other new moms.
12:00-2:00 every Friday. $10 per session.
**A NOTE ABOUT STROLLERS
We are proud, happy owners of a large, urban terrain stroller around which we initially designed our store; we envisioned aisles and pathways down which similar sized strollers could roll while customers simultaneously held their children in arms. As our store has grown we have realized this goal in a long, narrow, urban space is impossible and as such we as that you try to please leave your stroller home when you are attending our Friday Mom's group. We appreciate that many mothers have used the Friday group as their very first outing alone with their baby and we know it's a lot to also ask that these same brand new mamas take a fast track to a Bjorn/Baby Ergo/sling. We will accommodate the first few strollers as best as possible. However, as our retail inventory has grown we literally have run out of space to line up the strollers on Friday mornings. We have a ramp at the door of the store so that shoppers can come in and leave their strollers up front while they shop but our store layout and the success of our Friday programming does not allow us to accommodate up to 15 strollers for several hours at a time! People who drive to the store most often bring the baby in still in the infant car seat and we will be waiting to help you up the ramp and into the Parenting Center.
